I've come to the conclusion that Lyg is probably just a distortion of Molag Bal's realm. Stories involving the creation of Daedra are usually really muddled and ambiguous. Heck, I'm pretty sure Boethia made fun of the mortal interpretation of Malacath's creation from Trinimac, and I'm also pretty sure Vivec made a comment on that story as well.
