As someone who is an actual drug addict, no they are not even close to alcohol or drugs or porn.

I can't think of a single video game that I can't stop playing. There would have to be some game that you can't go a day without playing, for it to be addicting. You can maybe go 1 day, but you get extremely agitated and NEED to play that game to feel normal.

Video games are not addicting. They are escapism for people who can't handle reality. There is a big difference. If video games are addicting, you would miss your graduation, or the birth of your own child to play games.

I have 1000+ hours in WoW, and I would not consider that addicting. It's a fun game, but it's not even close to drugs, alcohol, or porn.

If you think video games are addicting, you don't know anything about addiction.
