It's not about being cucked or not, "Vanilla Expanded" as a tag is borderline useless since they're all individual submods with WILDLY different mod quality and coding. Oskar himself isn't even a coder, he just scribbles art and had the marketing savvy to know that calling things "Vanilla X" was smart since no matter how ridiculous an addition people would be more likely to download it based on "vanilla" feel.
Some VE stuff is good like the Vanilla Expanded Races shit for Sanguophage and Highmates, some was decent but is no longer necessary with Odyssey like the Fishing stuff, and some is retarded awful bloat (aka almost anything touching Ideologies adding a million retarded memes and technologies hyperfixating on the most random garbage)
