I'd argue that you don't even have to shoot it on film, just print the final master on it
The South Park movie was animated entirely on computers and then printed on 35mm (it's the only master that has been available to the public, even on bluray) and imo, it's the best SP has ever looked
The Spongebob movie was also done digitally but had a 35mm print. The digital master was used for most home video releases until now for streaming and 4k
