I could see the staff sometimes having a laugh behind the scenes. In fact, in the case of Flanders I just remembered the Calpis producer involved in it was apparently christian (土倉冨士雄 on wikipedia). But yeah WMT could be pretty hardcore and the studio seemed to embrace that as part of their identity, beyond that producer.
