On one hand, I'm glad we have foresight.
On the other hand, there's no way WFS is stupid enough to double down on a nerf that would piss of their whales, right? The game earns a lot on Japan sure, but it barely generates fanart to a degree that you'd think that it's mainstream. It gives off the impression that it's a niche funded by gigawhales.

The game's onboarding is also pretty ass. Turn-based is also still a niche despite Star Rail's popularity. Like it does have a massively simplified system but it makes up for it in bling.
Meanwhile HBR is more story over gameplay and uhh, yeah. The dopamine injection only really starts on the endgame. And by then a lot of people would've already been filtered by the Yama no Susume.
I can't emphasize enough the power of THE dopamine injection moment happening early on.
