Its mere existence irritates me, because it's proof that you can make an adaptation work without it being confusing to the viewer. You can have a 26 episode anime that has a 3-episode cycle of SoL scens -> ! scenes -> backnights, or even a 2-episode cycle provided you want to show Bazett and Avenger beat the other 5 Servants too.
If anything the real issue would be Ufotable being too lazy to animate the Angra tattoos properly and stifling his screentime. Or worse yet, 3DCG-ing him like Dark Berserker
