>be on good terms with the local reptile store
>visit yesterday and the owner says they been needing to see me
>they explain they bought a giant gecko a month or so ago from an encounter company due to them being unable to keep up with it's temperment
>the gecko is 4 years old and she suspects they were just too nervous handling it and it has been socialble temperment wise
>she was told it was female and so she put it in with a male to hopefully start a breeding pair
>after a month she finds out it was actually a low tes male and because of it being in proximity with another male the tes levels have increased to make the sexing more obvious
>she already has another female she can cohab with the male but she does not have space for this one
>she asks if I want him at first refusal and at around $450 because she knew I have been thinking about a gecko for a while
>leave the store agreeing to a monthly settlement to buy him and to have him by the weekend
What am I in for? Apparently he is a smaller sub species and has pinkish beige stripes. I have handled him and seems nice enough, but this will be the first time I have ever looked after a gecko
