Thoughts on why this happened?

Marriage used to be a clever trick to prevent society and as an extension, civilization from collapsing. It worked because men were guaranteed a life long partner, with each other bound solely to each other, encouraging men to fight for and contribute back to society.

With marriage nowadays being nothing more than state enforced slavery, with no-fault dirvoces and with women's arbitrariness (emotional retards), ungratefulness, promiscuity breaking the original contract, men either focus on money and recognition, which leads to greed and narcissism, or become exiled from the very society they have created.

Will we ever fix this problem or is the west destined to be Rome v2?
