If these morons couldn't handle nuking gold and such from a couple of hundred players with less than a day's worth of /played time, I don't know how anyone could expect them to handle much more widespread exploiting in the future (which TrinityCore is infamous for). They didn't even do this 'prune' correctly anyway, just as I predicted would happen.
This was a test, and they failed it.
