Everyone always says I'm crazy for suggesting this...but I think Classic+ related content would really benefit from adopting a phased/"league" style life cycle. Content is drip fed over X amount of time, lets say 3 months, similar to how Classic realms got content in phases. There can be some unique modifiers to the content similar to PoE leagues. Accelerated level growth. Server wipes after 3 months and you go again in the new league with some modifier. People have leveled to 60 and abandoned so many characters over much longer period of times so I don't buy the character attachment issue.

As an insecure developer myself, here is what I would do in order to test a new WoW Private Server: DDoS yourself. Yea, just invest like $1k into cloud instances and run a shell script to install and try and log into the game. From there, have them run existing WoW bot scripts and see how that goes. Biggest issue I've seen with TurtleWoW's economy is more the fact that there's no robust auction house addons available (there's Aux, and you can get a Vanilla version of Auctionator, but both are pretty shit compared to the Auctionator that I usually use on WotLK servers). It's also impossible to do a full scan with AH addons unlike on other servers.
Perhaps this is a good thing for the economy's health on a large scale, but as someone who just wants to be able to scan the AH occasionally to see what's worth what and not having to fight the UI to make piddly amounts of gold, it's a bit grating to deal with.
