FOP has just been left in such a sad state its impossible to even reboot it. The last couple of seasons were terrible and introduced concepts that were largely derided. The show's crew didn't really listen to fan complaints and instead just doubled down on spamming the same characters and putting out a boring cheap product until eventually another show (TLH) came and took their lunch.
ANW showed that even with entirely new characters, that having some form of character development and continuity even in a comedic show like this can work very well. That's why Dev became a popular character, he's the male version of what Trixie Tang should have been. Cosmo and Wanda weren't at each others throats. It was actually a refreshing watch, even though I didn't find Hazel's friends to be that interesting compared to Chester, Aj, Tootie or the rest.
