It means he doesn't actually have the controller and has to lie out of his ass about what it's like. It actually has a matte finish with a fine texture, but it doesn't feel slippery at all. Joy Con 2s also use the same thing. Feels different from the current Xbox and Playstation controllers, which went for the coarse grit on their handles for extra grip and breathability, but it does serve the same purpose.
