I'm not sure if this has been proposed before but my solution to the fusion problem is this:
In your main phase 2, you can do contact fusion to fusion summon for your extra deck. No polymerization required. You can only do main phase 1 contact fusion if you use polymerization or something like it
Also I'd have way more fusion monsters use generic materials
