Also tried LotF and am in agreement that it is trash. It's one of the games I had in mind when mentioning others which imitate without thought or make changes for no reason. The people who made that game never stopped to ask 'is this enjoyable. Code Vein is almost serviceable but has the same problem. Lies of P on the other hand is a genuine quality game. It can seriously be considered alongside the better Fromsoft games, in a similar vein to how Project Wingman is above all the Ace Combat imitators (and the worse entries in that franchise).
