What's the right way to learn how to reconstruct these morpho heads?

Then I rely on the lineart of the drawing and not my own thoughts, erasing any progress I had made and leaving me to just xerox mindlessly
That's why a lot of these are more exaggerated or rotated
I feel like the 2nd one on the top is much less mushy than the last one at the top
third one at the top is the most accurate but also the most mindless where I learn no patterns to hone, just seperate images
