The Japanese will pay through the roof for literally the most garbage shit imaginable if they think it was made in a traditional way. I remember watching this video of a japanese guy who splashed sea water on some dirt and then squeezed the dirt in a rag and boiled the dirt water to leave behind sea salt. And then he's selling it for like 1000x the price of normal salt and the immense slopping sounds that resounded for this incredible dirt salt harvested in the most inefficient way possible swept the trees and the valleys. I don't trust anything that was made in japan to be any better than anywhere else because this is the shit they think is the highest craftsmanship. They literally eat dirt and call it a delicacy because someone 100 years ago did too.
