I've been calculating and with the same price, I could literally buy a 2tb yearly subscription of google drive, plus I don't have to maintain it.
but NAS sound tempting to build, I've been thinking about the hardware but not the software itself though so I still have yet to understand how to actually set it up.

any tips on choosing computer parts for NAS?
what about electricity bill for running them 24/7?
any tips at all?
