This is exactly the kind of information I needed. Thank you! I'm not looking to go fast, just thought some extra torque would be useful. Makes sense about the transmission and diffs. I don't really want a 4x4, but I travel solo a lot, and some of the places I go would be safer with 4x4. A Panda seemed like a nice compromise of having all wheel traction while still being easy to recover, fuel efficient, and cheap enough to abandon. Would you trust one in the desert?
