It's evident you only skimmed the lore. As stated in the lore, the initial sketches of the Xzen-Akaias before it was set aside called for a flamberge (or undulating) blade made of superheated iron; when General Lucas Fygoon saw how uniform superheated iron looked with the Superheated Mace of the Bulldogs, he consequently turned to more unorthodox means of making a sword (that being using the petrol-based material engineered by the Dragons of the Northern Continent to make a blade).
