In prior years, the people who blindly trust everything they are told by authorities at least had to know the name of the authority who told them that to know if they were trustworthy.
You could dismiss low-effort retardation if you knew if the expert they got information from was Carl Sagan in one of his documentaries, or Creflo Dollar known millionaire televangelist con-man. You could safely dismiss their research and findings just from knowing the source.
AI Doesn't care about that, worse: AI takes information sources from all of these people, Creflo Dollar, Carl Sagan, Alex Jones, real people, fake people, imagined people, hypothetical people, nameless redditors, named scientific papers, and put them all into a blender before feeding it back to you. When you ask an AI a question, you have no fucking clue if it just gave you an answer from the voice of a known scientific researcher or a transcript of Joe Rogan interviewing a methed-up hobo.
And even worse than that: It will sometimes change voices while it is answering your question to the point that the answer it gives is just right enough to the point that nobody who isn't an expert can know that it is completely wrong.
AI is a stupid source of information because it has no accountability for the stupid shit it says, but it will gladly present it to you as if an expert hand-picked all of its facts.
