you can instantly dismiss their opinions as late majority/laggards. you can just tell from the way this is worded the person writing it is risk-averse, probably dresses really bland and probably is not considered fashionable by anyone. they're either just trying to fit in and not really interested in fashion, or really out of the loop.
there's nothing wrong with that but fashion forums get clogged up with their useless opinions. i don't understand why people who have never once pushed the envelope, wore a fit they weren't sure would land, taken a risk, etc think their opinion has much value in communities centered around trend setters.
newfags need to be told to lurk instead of post more often.
