But that basically happens! Sazh helps save the world. This one of my favorite things about FFXIII, you can make the party whatever you want. You can defeat Orphan with Sazh as your party leader. If you want to feel like Sazh is the main character, then he can be. All you have to do is put him as the party leader.

The world building is objectively great. I think the characters being more subtle, HUMAN, flawed and nuanced than most are willing to give it credit for, leaves the common talking points and discussions about this game hollow and substance-less because barely anyone has anything to say about the characters. The characters have genuine gravitas with human flaws and their vocal performances are actually top notch. Some of my favorite in the entire series, bar none. And not because they all have long winded dialogue scenes either. The opposite, in fact.
