The random human shitters in SM2 that you can kill just by running through them are the dregs and scabs of Darktide. The heavy-ass boltgun in Darktide is the equivalent of the basic pistol. A single Rubric Marine would be roughly the equivalent of a Darktide boss.
I don't think the marines in SM2 feel particularly weak, but the design is inferior to Darktide's so certain situations force you to do goofy shit like rollspamming or cover-peekaboo to survive. Against hordes of common melee mooks, the astartes are an unbeatable force, but just like in lore, if the enemy has ranged ordnance with enough punch, they will take off the head of an Emperor's chosen, just like an astartes would do the same to an unwary chaos warrior in the open. It's not unheard off of a lucky guardsman or a well-placed rocketeer managing to pop a chaos marine.
