I'm very much of the "use whatever is fun" mindset, my fantasy chaos army is a mix of old kits, aos, prints, 3d party, ect, but I am looking to do something more aesthetically cohesive like my 40k chaos army which I've learned a lot working on.
Nighthaunt are great, I ordered some chainwrasps because I think they'd make for interesting parts for skeletons. Just add legs, or stick them on a human body to make a bulky skeleton.
Soulblight grave lords are kinda weak imo. The fell bats and dire wolves are interesting, but none of the infantry really stand out to me. I like the mounted skeletons a lot and may pick them up eventually.
The main bulk of my force that I have planned is oathmark skeletons (I really like these if you swap them for GW skull heads), fireforge zombies, and WGA villagers to kitbash for lots of interesting zombies. The main thing that makes me want to do this project is big hordes of 40 zombies with 3-4 paper banners sticking out at various parts of the regiment, tons of fun conversions, and a relatively quick mood-lighting esque paint scheme in kind of a similar vein to these demons I did.
