here’s how my day has been
this is the only time I’ll post something that I’m going to throw away since I don’t want to fill the thread with shitty scribbles but I didn’t even touch my sketchbook today
working on printer paper for stuff like this is pretty neat, I could burn through a dozen sheets of this shit in a day so long as it doesn’t make me want to kms in the process
I did an hour or so of copying from references and then tried to produce a page of imaginative poses to see if any of it would stick in the short-term and, to absolutely no surprise, nope, still not there yet (the referenced poses weren’t any better)
I’ll trust in the process that this is indeed forming good long-term habits and that I’ll begin to memorise proportions through brute force, but I think I need to spend some cognitive load on doing some self-assessment and iterative correction next time since I was mostly blasting these out without much thought

thanks again redblob (idk if that’s a pejorative name but it’s what the rest of the thread seems to call you)
>or maybe you mean the edges of those limb-cylinders count as cross contour lines?
you can see the remnants of it on the figure’s right leg, I gave up quickly once I realised I had no idea why I was doing it kek
>the point of cross contour lines
yeah I found tutorials from richard smitheman and I understand it better now, at the time I did that sketch I only understood cross contour lines to show the topology of some form, but now I learned that they also show the perspective of the whole volume and not just the curvature of the form’s surface
