I don't read a lot of fan fiction, buy my favorite HP fanfic is the Seventh Horcrux, which is a retelling of the seven books except that Harry Potter's consciousness is literally that of Voldemort due to the failed Killing Curse and the transfer of his soul. Voldemort now has to live out Harry's life, while still retaining all of his past memories and knowledge, and nobody realizes that he is the reincarnation of the Dark Lord. Hilarity ensues.
