I spent a lot of time with a now-diagnosed schizophrenic (ASD diagnosed much earlier in his life) over the course of a few years and had the opportunity to watch his descent around his early twenties, he trusted me a fair amount so I got to hear a lot of his delusions progress. He was always very studious and polite with me while being completely unmedicated, you'd never have guessed in a passing interaction or three.
