It does and I get you. It happens and I think I've probably gone through the same thing (and maybe in the future I'll look back and say I'm doing it right now, who knows?)

This is a really really good start! I actually partially flesh out my fantas before I spent the $10 as "would this have a lore background? Is it worth it?" and I've been highlander for quite a bit now. I have more confidence in gposing when I know my hl's "personality" what she would or wouldn't do/wear/etc. Fleshing out your character helps the creative process for gposing for sure.
I'd say for your gpose ideas, take a look at your WoL's combat animations and pick which looks the coolest or most interesting and work from there. Maybe he (I'm assuming he?) has a sword and there's something significant about it, maybe it was buried somewhere or the handle reminds him of a certain place? That could be the basis for a location, just have to ask weird questions that could set your creative path going
That or you can just do /emote /facialemote and hit print screen. Sometimes that works too! Doesn't always have to be a big production either so don't think everything is super serious- it's all fun

I've drawn ideas for my characters but not gposes. Typically I just think of what pose I want and then hit emotes that would be closest to that (ie inspecting the ground? /kneel and pose to taste)
