Probably. It's far away so it must be dangerous.

Unfortunately those guys are usually at the helm... A lot of people have gone all-in on AI thinking it's magic solution, even though they could watch a 30 minute YouTube video have the whole thing demystified.

My friend used to teach undergrads and he said they've gotten dumber, and that was only 4 years after we graduated (and teaching somewhere with way higher entry requirements). In my last job a few of the professors said students were handing in complete nonsense written with ChatGPT.
Not a good time to be going into education...

I guess you need to decide if that's a good trade-off for you. For all the doom and gloom I don't think it's necessarily bad to not develop certain skills, provided that energy gets put somewhere else.
