My profile pictures on work accounts are ponies. One person figured out that an encoded message left by me in a peculiar place was a pony's name. I repeatedly leave pony references in plain sight in non-crucial places, where the context fits, of course. Most people don't care, some have a laugh, some probably cringe silently. It's not harmful.

As for family and friends - they know. Mom asked me who's the cute pony on my phone's lockscreen. Friends don't mind. As I replied to someone else with similar concern a while ago - you can be cool about ponies, anon. They're unusual, but they don't have to be something you need to hide. "git gud" and be confident about that.
