I just got through the dog castle last night, and while I wouldn't call it shit I agree it wasn't particularly good. Also I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who thought the ferret village was way too big. Felt like I wandered around for 10 minutes just checking everything, only to find that the three relevant doors in the whole town are basically on the same screen.
That said, I'm enjoying it so far. The biggest hurdle was learning that the GOG port is uncharacteristically sluggish and playing through ScummVM is the only way to go.
