Even from a distance, he could tell what was happening. It was Woe. She was running to him. Sprinting. The retired assassin was being chased by kids and adults alike. All of which had giant super soakers, just like she did.

Her long, massive hair swayed behind her as she sprinted. Despite her wearing sandals and running on sand dunes, she wasn’t hindered one bit. In fact, she looked in the zone. She got closer and closer by the second.

“Woe, what going-” was all Basil could say before she did a somersault and ducked behind him. She leaned out to the side to see the crowd approaching. All of them soaking wet. Basil noticed Woe was bone dry.

“I’m the last one standing. And I’ll be damn sure I won’t get caught.” She explained. Basil couldn’t discern if she was treating it as a game or if she was having an episode along with it. That didn’t matter at the second, as he was sprayed with a barrage of sea water from dozens of water guns. Woe took the opportunity to run away, and the crowd kept their pursuit.

Basil quit the day right after that. He never found the watch and never returned to the beach.
