They're trying to get the show canceled because they're pissed off at Viacom after they got busted for double dealing. Matt and Trey want to cash out and they think this is the fastest way to do it, since Colbert got canceled.

Quick rundown: HBO / Warner Bros. signed a billion dollar agreement with Viacom to make the next several seasons of South Park exclusive to HBO Max. Then, while the ink was still drying, Viacom made Paramount+, and was insta-regretting the deal with HBO because South Park is their most valuable show. So they asked Matt and Trey if they would make some South Park specials for P+ outside of their deal with Warner Bros., and the end result was that HBO basically got nothing while Paramount+ got a drip feed of hour long specials, and that resulted in a billion dollar lawsuit with Matt and Trey caught in the middle and everyone is pissed at each other.

Combine that with Colbert's show getting canceled, and I think it's obvious that Matt and Trey do not want to come along for the ride when Skydance fully acquires Viacom. They are possibly also considering that Skydance has already made a massive investment in animation with John Lasseter, and they're hoping that South Park will be considered too crass and low-brow for the animation brand they're hoping to build, and Skydance will just buy them out to wash their hands of having to deal with this shit ever again.

This is all speculation and maybe some copium but consider that the punchline of the episode is a link that takes viewers to an obscene AI generated video of Donald Trump that might actually be illegal under a law that was just passed, and I think it's clear that Matt and Trey are trying to burn bridges with Viacom and get out of their partnership. I'm not gonna pretend I know what their motivations are but their past legal problems are probably a big part of it.
