How is it the US somehow always comes out decent, but not great in these rankings?
The free speech, religious liberty, the lax gun laws, and now lax drug laws (great combination?), and yet we're sitting at 84?
Japan, meanwhile, has institutionalized organized crime, a nearly 100% conviction rate, the death penalty (which is fine), strict regulation of recreational and many pharmaceutical drugs (pseudoephedrine is illegal), and it's at 96.
France has hate speech laws, holocaust/Armenian genocide laws, and a list of state-approved names for your children, and it's at 89.
