It's precisely because it's a character Kanako innately cares about that I would choose it to go through something like this. It becomes more personal and has much more of an impact on her than if it was someone she had only met minutes-to-hours ago. Imagine how much more pissed Kanako would be at Toster and the Outlaw after watching what their actions led to with BunBun.

>As for how darkners would take that kind of revealation, it still seems out of character. A darkner won't go against its nature, regardless of how much insight it gains. Even the schizos are ultimately just fulfilling their intended role. Jevil is still the wild card in the game, who only wants to have fun and breaks the rules to do it. Spamton is just as much a malcontent sleezy scam artist as he was before, he's just using unusual means. Bunbun exists to comfort Kanako, so it would be anathema to existence to ever do something that would upset her. We see what happens when a darkner like that gains meta knowledge, you get Ralsei.
Now this I agree with, I don't think it's right for BunBun to ask for this after reflecting on it. If one were to go the body mod route, it shouldn't be voluntary. I've begun writing something with my idea of the character that adds a bit more back-lore, I might have it tomorrow if I don't finish it tonight. It won't be intended as a suggestion for DRY1anon, just me fully getting out the ideas building in my head.
