Yeah, Sting. He survived because Chaos got split at the torso instead of the cockpit, much like how Immortal Justice was cut in half with Shinn bailing out of it midair. There's a split second scene where Sting is being rescued in a boat by soldiers.

I always thought his death was tragic, precisely because nobody mourned for him and he didn't even get to finish his last sentence. At that point Shinn knew Extended are tortured so him dispatching him uneventfully and mercilessly was grim. Then again he probably didn't even know he was in that Destroy.

Surviving all this only to get repurposed and stuffed into a coffin that is the Destroy Gundam is just sad.
