I recently decided to kick open a new playthrough of Morrowind with the graphics overhaul modlist, Tamriel Rebuilt included, and a few small mods of my own. Its pretty damn good. With all the landmass mods included its the largest and most content dense TES game out there with some of the best writing, magic systems, and even the ability to play co-op. I haven't had a single crash in a 40 hour playthrough, and performance is pretty stellar. The only "issue" gameplay wise is combat is chanced based and a bit archaic, so things like blocking are done automatically and for some reason directional attacks are controlled by "wasd" instead of mouse input. You can change some of that by using a mod that allows you to manually raise your shield (still chance based though), turning on "always use best attack".
Its probably the best adventure RPG I can think of.
