If we compare a real main character with Glimmer it's not even close, the rest of the m6 mog her as well. The "favoritism" excuse is extremely overblown.

You're stretching things quite a bit.

Glimmer is less loud than Dash, Pinkie, and Rarity.

So she went to a normal school like the rest of the ponies in Equestria. That phrase is more about their personality anyway, Glimmer was melodramatic and anxious early on which is far from being hip and cool.

Not one bit. Sparkle's character growth runs in conjunction with Glimmer as they are mentor and student, Sparkle shares part of the focus in what little episodes Glimmer got. The rest of the m6 is business as usual, Dash gets some focus as a new Wonderbolts member and Rarity is expanding her business opening new shops even.

Can you list some examples? I don't recall them. I remember the main cast constantly harassing Glimmer over her past though, that was getting annoying quick.
