the problem with the whole thing (assuming it's not simple incompetence) is just that the slash is TAKING TOO LONG and cuts off real soon, it looks kind of weird and unclear either way
the shorter fatter curve of the slash generally implies the follow-through at the very end, like in picrel, and the only way i can rationalize the overall length is that the culprit is doing a faster-than-light drive-by, which is why the attack "starts" so early
and the opposite direction, funnily enough, would be full-body spinning slash (that tapers off very far for no good reason) that is possible for kris and his shortsword
regardless, it can't be a straightforward right-to-left attack, you would draw it like knight's box-breaker
