"Conservatives" don't really believe anything. If they really believed in something they would fight for it. Their position is whatever liberals believed 20-30 years ago. The instinct that leads to creation is simply not a conservative one. Consider also the fact that if you're an artist and you wish to rebel against the system without losing all your connections and opportunities, the last thing you would do is associate with far right circles.
