Most people know Togashi only does batches of 10 chapters because that fills a volume of manga.

Hunter x Hunter is very much a visually driven manga and Togashi very much understands his medium.
Really, the thing he's most prideful about (or rather, most insistent on) is maintaining its place in Weekly Jump, likely because most of his manga is just plays on ideas central to Jump. Yu Yu Hakusho purposefully acts out the structure of most manga Togashi grew up reading, like Kinnikuman and Dragon Ball.

Kurapika IS the main character of Hunter x Hunter alongside Gon, this is a thing a lot of people miss (both due to the 2011 anime really focusing on Gon and Killua (for merchandising), as well as Volume 0 being fairly obscure).
Kurapika and Gon are parallel storylines. Both are the people with the strongest desires of their group and both pursue them in opposing ways.
Gon in CA and then him being saved by Killua will inevitably be paralleled to whatever Kurapika does on the boat, as Gon's nen contract was something he does thanks to Kurapika's instructions during his training for GI.
Additionally, Gon's story isn't over. He still hasn't met Gyro.

Obviously any of this happening is up in the air since Togashi is like 50 and the manga gets maybe 10 chapters every 1-2 years, but I feel like it'll go like this:
>Succession War (CA length arc, probably ending 2030-2032)
>Dark Continent (Shorter Arc, maybe 2-3 years)
>Gyro (Longer arc, probably 8 years)
>Final Arc (Who knows)
I see DC as being short with its ramifications being found in what comes after. I also imagine it will focus on Leorio rather than Ging.
