I think, for the time being until I decide on a new project properly, I'm going to take the second unpainted platoon I have of Cazadores and paint them up in an earlier uniform. The Rayadillo style uniform was used from 1909 though 1920, with the green uniforms I've already painted being adopted in 1914 for summer uniforms only, and then for both summer and winter uniforms completely in 1920 onward. That will give me a larger flexibility in era I can have these Spaniards fighting. And if need be I could still combine them together into a full company if I ever needed that for action between 1914 through the early 1920s. I rather paint now and decide on something I'd really like to get into with some proper planning put into it later. I think I will finally pick up some pith helmeted Brits with maxim guns (I've been using zulu war era British for these Spaniards as noone makes the actual Spaniards and at 10mm who can tell) because the Spanish fielded a very limited numbers of them early on before switching over to the Hotchkiss as a result of supply restrictions caused by the Great War.
