All this mucking about with the items did allow me to discover a minor bug though. It turns out that when you use an item with two (or more?) common events, only the last event will be executed and the other ignored. Blood vial is supposed to satiate a minor amount of hunger when consumed similar to a carrot or an egg AND provide you with an empty vial but since it uses two common events to do it consuming the blood vial will only give you an empty vial and satisfy no hunger. It let me to realize that some other bugs I THOUGHT I had fixed weren't actually fixed like the potions the merchant at the front of the fortress not giving you an empty vial when consumed. It also meant that my edits to the Creation of Life II book wouldn't have taught you demon seed whoops! Pretty small bug but it's been fixed.
