As a grass fields enjoyer, I usually take over these four normal coal nodes and belt them out to the sea where I build a massive island of coal power generators and water pumps.
It lives on to become a significant portion of my power generation, receiving upgrades as the game progresses.
Even in early game, you should be able to build off site power generation.
