lutris lets you manage different wine configs and versions easily.
you set up your retro wine once, and then you can click this button to run a retro game with that specific 32bit wine prefix, without changing your regular system prefix.
there's also ready made wine prefix installers for a bunch of games on the lutris site, that install dependencies like .net and so on.

there's ways to do all of that in the command line too, but who has the nerve for that every time?
