If you are referring to jiangshi then they kinda are. Japanese ghosts and yokai look very visually distinct from their chinese variants if you are well versed enough.
Not to mention art style. Nioh does this thing where yokai either look like they're tacked on glowing crystal bits or they're just kamen rider/tokusatsu villains.
In wuchang at the very least, the enemies do seem like out of some asian body horror movie.
