A well maintained pickup truck will generally retain more of its value than a car? Personally I cannot imagine making payments on a vehicle unless I were a contractor and needed something that could effortlessly haul heavy trailers. I inherited a 2022 RAM and sold it in favour of keeping my 2000 F-150. Everyone in town seems to have at least one RAM with a HEMI. I'm more than content with the old Ford as a daily driver: it's a 5-speed manual, crank windows, CD player, AC, extended cab with just over 100K kms on the odometer. I like the ruggedness of RWD on an independent frame. It's got enough clearance to go where most cars or SUVs cannot. I can haul firewood with it. Picrel is a 1980 E-150 I used to tour around in. It would've been over 20 years old at the time, and ran like a top. Yeah, newer trucks with their oversized cabs and gizmos are sure nice if you can afford to keep them up, but I'm not really a truck guy... just a guy who happens to like and appreciate my basic truck.
