actually... I'm fine with all the brick-built figures.
I think they are charming in their own ways

but that MARIO? hideous.
he doesn't look "Lego" or "Video Game" they settled on an in-between version that's awful. do you remember the picture of the prototype Minidolls? for the Friends sets? and it's like "yeah, they picked the best one"? well... they picked the wrong Mario.

he doesn't "match" any of it. I get that he needs electronics in him, so he needs to be a big solid piece, but make him look similar to the other brick-built things.

as much as I want one (and it's painfully obvious everyone else, too) if they EVER made ONE Mario Minifig, the entire brick-built Mario Empire would implode immediately. and they can simply make bigger, more expensive sets with brick-built figures
