The cotton gin and it's consequences have had a negative effect on human society. The population has doubled and quadrupled yet the amount of people living outside of this truly hellish dystopian reality has stayed the same. Boomers were raised during segregation and their parents lived much of their lives during segregated times leading up to the post-world war era circa 1950. Separate and equal living conditions could be argued as what made this country so great into a superpower. To have that in modern times requires multiple millions dollars. So while some people seem to be living successful lives according to their social media posts, they're fooling themselves that were not living in a desegregated dystopian reality.
